I undertake a variety of research and evaluation commissions that help clients to understand the difference they are making with their work and improve and develop their approach. Strong themes in my practice are co-creation and usefulness of process. Evaluations can range from simple evaluation plans and surveys to a detailed story of change and associated multi-method evaluation approaches.
I am a firm believer in useful evaluation that works towards a cycle of continuous improvement. I am interested in the nuance of your work and see it integral to any evaluation process to spend time understanding the work to develop a bespoke framework, I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach. I take the time to make sure what we develop will support the work you’re doing in a practical way. As a result, I often see myself working across a number of theories including impact, principle and change. I work hard to build frameworks that are appropriate and that those working on the ground are comfortable with and included in.
I don’t see evaluation through a lens of criticality but more as an opportunity to build a culture of reflective practice and learning in organisations. I am more interested in evaluation as part of the learning process than as a report at the end of a process.
